FAQ
Q:Can my family stay with me at the Center?
A:Yes. The inpatient center provides a family kitchen, washer/dryer, shower room, and a sleeper/chair for any family member that wishes to stay with you during your stay at our center.
Q:I have small children, are they allowed to visit me when I am in the center?
A:Hospice of Wichita Falls believes in keeping the family unit together. Our inpatient facility welcomes family members 24 hours a day. We have a wonderful children’s playroom that includes games, videos and other age appropriate activities. We have staff that are specially trained to assist children who are facing the loss of someone special in their life.
Q:Is the Center just for the actively dying patient?
A:No. Most of the patients that enter our center do so for symptom management or to transition to another home environment when their current living environment can no longer meet their needs.
Q:What can I eat while in the center?
A:The center offers the patient 3 meals a day and snacks from our menu. We will make every effort possible to meet your request. Your family and friends are welcome to bring in meals from the outside if you desire.
Q:What should I bring when I come to the center?
A:We encourage you to bring clothes from home that you are comfortable in and any personal items that you might desire, such as tooth brush and other personal hygiene items. We will provide a hospital gown if needed. If you are coming from our homecare program you will need to bring any medications that are in a bubble pack or the original bottle so that the medications may be continued in the center if needed.
