Volunteer
Volunteer at Hospice
As a Hospice of Wichita Falls volunteer you can make a difference by offering your friendship and support to individuals near the end of their lives. Being a volunteer can challenge your spirit, fill your heart and enrich your own life. Hospice volunteers are men and women who have a sincere desire to help others.
We have many opportunities for volunteering here at Hospice of Wichita Falls based on your areas of interest, schedule and special gifts. You may choose to have direct patient contact and visit those individuals at their place of residence or spend some time in our inpatient care facility. You could choose to help with some of our administrative duties or in our bereavement program. We have several special events throughout the year also for your consideration. We have volunteer opportunities to suit everyone who would like to be a part of our program.
We offer several volunteer training sessions during the year in the afternoon and the evening. During training we educate you on the hospice philosophy and the history of Hospice of Wichita Falls. We have speakers participate in our training from various disciplines within our organization to familiarize you with our team approach in caring for the patients. Through training, our volunteers learn how to give the gift of their hearts in providing emotional support, companionship and respite care to our patients and their families.
We would like to encourage you to wait one year after a significant loss before becoming a volunteer. We invite those who might be interested in volunteering with Hospice of Wichita Falls to call one our Volunteer Coordinators and discuss their talents and interests with us so we can make your volunteer experiences as rewarding for you as it is for us.
