Q:How much of a time commitment would I be expected to contribute as a volunteer?

A:We are very flexible with each volunteer’s time commitment. It varies greatly depending on the individual and the area in which they serve. Some volunteers are able to serve weekly, whereas, others may choose to help a few times a year. Hospice of Wichita Falls is always appreciative of your gift of time.

Q:How soon can I volunteer after experiencing a loss in my life?

A:We ask that you wait a year after a significant loss before going through our volunteer training classes.

Q:If I prefer not to have patient contact, what other volunteer opportunities are available at Hospice of Wichita Falls?

A:We have volunteers that assist with administrative duties which may include general office, acknowledging donations, community promotional programs, mail-outs, and helping with fundraising activities. Volunteers may help in the bereavement area with our Building Bridges and Camp Grin Again programs and bereavement follow up and support. Volunteers are also needed for our Friends of Hospice Golf Tournament and Bingo programs at various locations.
